The INRE architectural studio approached us looking for wooden flooring that would suit the interior of a two-story apartment they were designing. Our SOHO parquet flooring was chosen for this project. It is made with 4 mm oak lamellas, expressive, large knots and burls, smoked for four hours and coated with oil with hard wax particles. The planks had to be planed, of varying widths (140–300 mm) and lengths (up to 5 meters).
The biggest challenge in implementing this project was that, at the architects’ request, the boards had to be planed so that the grooves did not end at the edge of the board but continued seamlessly from one to the next. To achieve this, we planed them after partially assembling them in groups, and the assembly resembled a jigsaw puzzle, as each parquet board had its own designated place.
