Overview: In this project, we had an opportunity to honor our true identity – “custom, hand-made flooring.”

Custom handscraped European oak

We received a request to make hand-scraped European-oak flooring for a beautiful urban apartment with a loft. Our partner INRE design studio wanted scraping that would flow smoothly from one plank to another, without any rough edges at the ends. To accomplish this, we had to “map” all planks, and scrape them in sets.

For this project, we selected a wood that’s one of our rising stars, which we call SOHO. This product is smoked European-oak characterized by large knots, and finished with white Hardwax oil. In addition to hand-scraping, we used planks of differing widths (140-300mm) and lengths (up to five meters) to create a a more-picturesque ambience.
